Family Dentistry For All Ages
Lawhead Family Dentistry is committed to helping each and every one of their patients with their oral health needs at every age of their life. As we age, our teeth and gums change, and so do our oral health needs. As a family dentistry practice, we are focused on meeting all of these needs, no matter the age of the patient.
Family Dentistry Experience & Training
Becoming a family dentist requires extensive training and experience for general dentists. Family dentists are trained to provide all-inclusive, comprehensive oral care and treatment for patients that range from infants to the elderly. If you are in search of a new dentist for you and/or your children, the dental professionals at Lawhead Family Dentistry are confident in their ability to provide high quality oral care to all of their patients, whatever their age may be.
Take Care Of Your Teeth At Home
An essential part of a successful family dentistry practice is the preventive work done by patients at home. The primary reason your teeth stay healthy is through daily oral hygiene routines and dietary habits. Our role is to help you maintain these daily routines to keep your teeth, gums, and overall smile healthy. Part of your routine dental visit includes spending some time with a hygienist and Dr. Carlin/Dr. Chris to discuss the proper way to brush and floss your teeth.
Preventative Family Dentistry
A major focus of family dentistry is providing preventive oral care with attention paid to maintaining the health of all of the teeth, their supporting tissues, and surrounding soft tissues in the oral cavity. This care includes comprehensive oral exams with x-rays, routine professional cleanings, and preventive therapies to treat tooth decay. All of these routine oral care practices play a primary role in the monitoring and early detection of symptoms of tooth infection and decay. Identifying infection and decay early on are of the utmost importance to minimize future damage and avoid the need for extensive and expensive future dental work.
If some tooth decay has occurred, both restorative and cosmetic procedures are available to treat the damage caused by decay, prevent further advancement of infection, and prevent future damage to the teeth and gums. A major facet of preventive family dentistry is oral health education. Our staff will spend time with you to discuss the health of your teeth and help you learn how to minimize future dental issues by developing healthy habits at home. If you have dental concerns, we will create a personalized treatment plan with options to address those concerns.
